Pre-Trip by Kesey
Pre-Trip screens your marketing against adopted law and cites the statute behind every finding. Then it does the thing nobody else at this price does: it files the check into a record you can hand a client.
Built for agencies shipping into regulated health verticals. First checks are on us: work email, no card, no install.
Every rule cited · review-dated · when in doubt, it flags
The record
Every check files itself: who ran it, when, for which client, against which rules, and what a re-check verified as fixed. The record is append-only, nobody can edit or delete it, including you, which is exactly what makes it worth handing over. Your drafts are never in it.
The header of a real report, with your name where ours would be. The findings, quotes, and citations print below it.
Set your logo once under Report branding and every client report carries it, with Pre-Trip named as the engine rather than the sender. It costs nothing and it is on every tier, including the free checks. When the contract renewal conversation comes, the record is the deck.
What the record keeps, and who on your team can see it, is disclosed exactly on the Trust page. The rest of what it can do, whole-site audits, the batch calendar check, fix-rate over time, lives on Features.
The check
Paste a draft, point at a live URL, drop the content calendar CSV, or upload the video creative. Nothing to install, nothing to integrate.
Every applicable ruleset, federal first, then state and vertical: banned claims, missing required disclaimers, deceptive subject lines, off-label phrasing, testimonial rules.
A clean pass cites the rules it cleared. A flag quotes the exact sentence, names the rule, and says what to change. Fix it and the re-check is free.
Here is what a finding actually looks like:
"Our program has a 94% success rate, and most of our alumni stay sober for life."
Specific success and sobriety statistics presented without substantiation are prohibited claims for Texas treatment facilities.
Texas Treatment Facilities Marketing Practices Act · Tex. H&S Code 164.010(1)(B)
"We measure outcomes the same way every year, and we will walk you through exactly what completion looked like for last year's cohort."
Describing how outcomes are measured, without asserting an unsubstantiated statistic, sits outside the prohibition.
From the live library: a real rule, its real citation, verified against its source. Browse all of them, with their review dates and how each was verified.
PRE-TRIP, n. The inspection a commercial driver must complete before the vehicle moves. 49 CFR 396.13. We hold marketing copy to trucking standards.
For agencies
Run the prospect's site through Pre-Trip. Cited, dated findings about their own pages open a sharper conversation than any deck.
Every draft, URL, and content calendar gets its verdict, and the free re-check proves the fix landed before anything goes live.
The record shows the year under your logo: what was caught, what was fixed, and what it was all screened against. That is the renewal deck.
Would rather hand the work off than run the checks? We take a small number of engagements directly, and work white label for agencies whose clients are in these categories. See the agency side →
See it run
Watch a real draft come back flagged with the statute cited, get fixed, and pass the free re-check. Then the whole-site audit, the batch calendar check, and the record it all files into, under your logo.

Coverage
Every campaign is screened against the federal layer (the HIPAA marketing rule, CAN-SPAM) plus the state advertising rules that apply to what you market and where. The library is compiled from public law, source-cited line by line, and carries a review clock per ruleset.

Cycling every vertical. Pick one to hold it.
This map shows addiction treatment. It is the vertical with a completed fifty-state survey behind it, so it is the only one that can claim every jurisdiction. The scanner answers per vertical: pick mental health, cannabis, dental or supplements there and the map redraws for that vertical, saying plainly where a state has not been surveyed yet rather than implying there is nothing to find. Mental health is the newest and is live in ten states. The fills are the library's own coverage tiers, read live from the same source the scanner reads, so this map cannot drift from what Pre-Trip enforces. Hover a state for its statutes and last review date.
The stakes
Three facts most marketing teams in these verticals find out the hard way. Each one is a citation, not a scare line.
For egregious policy violations, Google suspends the ad account on detection, without prior warning. In health verticals the downside of a bad ad is not a rejected creative; it is losing the channel.
Google Ads account suspensions policyThe first case under the Opioid Addiction Recovery Fraud Prevention Act was brought against R360, a company selling marketing services to treatment centers, and ended in a $3.8 million civil penalty judgment. Compliance is not only the client's problem.
FTC press release, May 2022LegitScript certification audits a facility's claims at application and at annual renewal, and that is what it is for. The ad variants and landing pages shipped in the months between are nobody's job to review, unless they are yours.

Fares
Your first check of each asset type is free, forever, on every surface: the web scanner, the extension, the API. After that it is a $19 pack of ten checks, or the Bus Pass at $99 a month when checking is part of the job. Agencies run on the Agency Pass: $25 per client per month, five-client minimum, with 150 checks per client pooled across the whole team and the client reports built in. Annual billing takes two months off either pass.
Every paid tier gets the client roster and the record. We do not meter your willingness to check; the ceilings sit far above real usage, and the interface never counts them down at you. Different shape? Say so and we will work out what fits.
Two doors
Pre-Trip is the software, and it is what most people here need. But the same library that powers it also runs behind an agency, and some readers would rather not do any of this themselves. Both doors are open, and they are priced nothing alike.
The software
Paste the draft, get a pass or a cited fix list, file it into the record. Your team keeps the writing, the relationships and the margin. First check of each asset type is free, forever.

Full service for a clinic, a treatment center, a med spa or a brand that would rather hand the whole program off. White label for an agency that wants the compliance layer without building one. Every word ships already screened.

Pre-Trip is a rigorous screen, not legal advice, and passing a scan is not a legal opinion. It exists so the draft that reaches your counsel, or your client's counsel, is already clean of the known problems. See Trust for exactly how we draw that line.
FAQ
Pre-Trip is a compliance scanner for regulated-health marketing. You paste an email, landing page, blog post, social post, or video creative, and it returns a pass or a precise, source-cited fix list, with every flag tied to the statute it comes from. It is built by Kesey for marketing agencies and in-house teams.
Marketing agencies and in-house marketing teams shipping into regulated health verticals, including addiction treatment, ketamine and psychedelic therapy, med spa and wellness, cannabis, and telehealth. It is made for the person writing or approving the copy, not for a lawyer.
The federal layer on every scan (the HIPAA marketing rule, CAN-SPAM, and FTC health-claim and endorsement rules) plus the state advertising rules that apply to your vertical, your state, and the asset type. Every rule traces to a public statute or board rule and carries a review date.
No. Pre-Trip is a rigorous screen, not legal advice, and a pass is not a legal opinion. It clears the known, cited, compiled problems so the draft that reaches your counsel is already worth their time. When in doubt, it flags: an unreviewed or stale rule is a flag, never a quiet pass.
Certification and per-asset review answer different questions. LegitScript audits a facility's claims at application and at annual renewal, which is what unlocks the ad platforms. It does not review the ad variants and landing pages written in between. Pre-Trip checks the individual asset before it ships, and if a client is heading into certification, the same scan is a useful pre-audit, since claim substantiation is the largest rejection category. More on how they fit together.
Yes. Pre-Trip offers a keyed REST API, a WordPress plugin that checks posts before publishing, a Chrome extension that checks selected copy on any page, and an MCP server so an AI assistant like Claude or Cursor can run a compliance check while you draft. All of them run the same engine as the web scanner.
