I build Attio around what your business actually runs on, move you onto it, and stay on after go-live.
You buy the software from Attio. You contract the work with me. Most CRMs hand you contacts, companies and deals and ask the business to fit. Attio lets you model the things you run on, and builds the record from your email and calendar on top of that model. The model is the part worth getting right first, so that is where the work starts.
Three ways in, and the first one is small on purpose
Same four questions whichever way you come in. Flip between them and watch what moves and what stays put.
Stays where it is.
I map what your business runs on and stand it up in Attio against a sample of your own records. Nothing moves.
Attio becomes the record.
Records come across from HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, a spreadsheet or a system built in house, onto a model designed first.
Stays in Attio.
It is already the record. What it is usually missing is everything that happens outside the inbox.
Your business, modelled in Attio.
Objects, relationships, pipelines and the attributes that matter, argued with before a single record moves.
The workspace, the move, the first workflows.
Email and calendar connected per person, the history brought across, and the automations that replace what somebody used to do by hand.
What it cannot see, wired in.
Billing, product usage and the warehouse brought into the record, then workflows and agents that act on it.
Fixed scope.
A short engagement with a defined end, quoted on a call, so the cheap way to find out whether Attio fits.
Weeks, most of it not in your calendar.
Quoted on a call, because it moves with how many objects and how much history come across.
Quoted on a call.
It moves with how many systems need to talk to the record.
Whether it fits.
You see your own business in Attio before anything moves, and the model carries straight into a build.
A record shaped like the business.
Then ongoing, month to month: a person paying attention to what the workflows and agents changed.
A record that knows what customers do.
Not only what they said. Watched month to month, with watches on top.
Most teams start with the model, because it is the cheapest place to find out Attio is wrong for you. Software is bought from Attio; the work is contracted with me.
The model first, then everything on it.
- 01The nouns come first.
Most of a broken CRM is people using the same word for four different things. A deal that is really a project, a contact that is really a household, an account that is really a fund. The model is where that gets decided, before anything is migrated or automated.
- 02It still builds itself.
Attio reads email and calendar and fills in people and companies on its own. A good model means what it builds lands in the right place, instead of in a field somebody has to clean up later.
- 03Nobody on your side goes looking.
A renewal window, an account going quiet, a number that moved without anyone deciding it should: it comes to you as a short read, and a person has already looked at it. The person is me.
Who this works for, and who it does not
- Your business does not run on contacts, companies and deals alone. A fund, a property, a placement, a project: any noun the template does not have.
- You were about to build your own CRM to get that model. Attio is the model without owning the record.
- Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. Attio syncs email and calendar from both.
- Up to about sixty people, where one person owns revenue and can decide in a call.
- You would rather describe how you sell than design a model. That is Day.ai, and I build on that too.
- Email marketing at volume is the main job. That is HubSpot's home ground, and six years there is where I would start you.
- Anything at a scale that needs a team. If it needs an agency, it needs an agency.
- You need a specific compliance certification. Ask me and I will find out.
Most of it happens before anything moves
- 01Map the nouns.
Before anything is connected: what the business runs on. Which things are objects, which are lists, which are attributes, and what relates to what. This is the step every migration skips and then pays for.
- 02Stand it up on a sample.
Workspace, objects, relationships, pipelines and permissions, built against a sample of your real records so the model gets argued with while it is still cheap to change.
- 03Connect and move.
Email and calendar connected per person, with what is shared and what is not decided per inbox. Then the history: Import2, the migration service Attio makes free on its paid plans, moves the rows from most CRMs, and the work is deciding what comes, what gets left, and what gets archived somewhere cheaper.
- 04Feed it what it cannot see.
Billing, product usage, the warehouse. The numbers that say what a customer does, wired in so the record knows more than what was said.
- 05Hand over, then stay.
Your team runs it. I watch it. The first month after go-live is when the real questions arrive, and it is the month most implementations are already gone.
Ongoing, month to month
A build finishes. The workspace does not. Ongoing is a person paying attention to it: reading what the workflows and agents changed, catching the duplicates, telling you when something is drifting before it becomes a cleanup project.
On top of the monthly you can add watches, each one a standing thing somebody reads and acts on. A renewal window. An account going quiet. A number that moved without anyone deciding it should. Each has a stated cadence and a stated firing budget, so a watch that goes off every day is my problem to fix, not a change order.
Frequently asked
What does an Attio implementation cost?
It depends on which of the three shapes you are: starting with the model, moving onto Attio, or building on an Attio you already run. I quote on a call, and there is no rate card, because the number moves with how many objects and how much history are involved. Attio software is billed separately, by Attio.
Can I migrate from HubSpot to Attio?
Yes. Attio moves records from HubSpot, Salesforce and most other CRMs through Import2, a migration service that is free for Attio users on paid plans, and companies, people, deals, custom objects, notes, tasks and files come across. Moving the rows is not the hard part. The work is the model underneath and deciding what to bring, what to leave and what to archive somewhere cheaper.
Does Attio work with Outlook?
Yes. Attio syncs email and calendar from Google Workspace and from Outlook, and fills in people and companies from the inbox either way.
What is a custom object in Attio?
A thing your business runs on that the standard template does not have: a fund, a property, a project, a placement. In Attio it gets its own records, attributes and relationships, instead of living as a field on a deal. How many objects a workspace can hold rises with the plan.
Attio or Day.ai?
Different questions. Attio is for the business that needs its own model, designed around what it actually runs on. Day.ai is for the team that would rather describe how it sells than design a model. Both build the record from email and calendar. I am a partner of both, so the answer is whichever fits, and the first call is where that gets decided.
How long does an Attio build take?
Quoted on a call, because it moves with how many objects and how much history come across. Most of the time goes on the model before anything moves, and most of that is not in your calendar.
Does Kesey work with Attio directly?
Yes. Kesey is an Attio Expert Partner. You buy the software from Attio and contract the services with me. If something breaks, you call me first and I escalate to them.
What if Attio turns out to be the wrong tool?
That is what starting with the model is for. You see your business in Attio on a sample of your own records before anything moves, which is a much cheaper place to find out than halfway through a migration.
