Vanta pricing: what it actually costs

Vanta quotes every deal, so most pricing pages guess. These are the real published numbers, what companies actually pay against them, and the four things that move the figure before you sign.

Vanta list prices, 1 to 20 employees

Vanta does not print prices on its own pricing page, but it does publish them on AWS Marketplace. Twelve month term.

PackageAnnual listWhat you get
Essentials$14,000 The entry package. One framework, core automation.
Plus$21,500 Adds the pieces most teams find they need by month three.
Professional$23,000 The full platform at this headcount band.

What companies actually pay for Vanta

List is not what people pay. Across 169 negotiated Vanta deals, the gap between the asking price and the signed price is close to a third.

How to negotiate Vanta pricing

Four levers, in rough order of how much they are worth.

15 to 30 percent

Multi-year commitment

The single largest lever. Two and three year terms carry real discount, and it is the first thing Vanta will offer if you ask for movement on price.

15 to 25 percent

A competing quote

A live Drata or Secureframe evaluation changes the conversation faster than anything you can say about budget. Get the other quote before you negotiate, not after.

Timing

Quarter and year end

Same deal, different month, different price. If your renewal date is flexible, moving it into the last two weeks of a quarter is free leverage.

Scope

Bundle the add-ons upfront

Add-ons bought mid-contract are priced at list with no leverage. Anything you will plausibly want in year one belongs in the first negotiation.

Vanta add-on pricing

The add-ons are where budgets break. Priced separately, at the 1 to 20 employee band, and two of these can cost more than the platform underneath them.

Trust Center$6,000
Questionnaire Automation$10,000
Third party risk$13,600

Vanta pricing questions

How much does Vanta cost?

Vanta's published list price starts at $14,000 a year for Essentials at 1 to 20 employees, rising to $23,000 for Professional at the same headcount. Observed signed contracts average $20,000 a year across all sizes, because most buyers negotiate roughly 30 percent off the opening quote.

Can you negotiate Vanta pricing?

Yes, and most buyers do. Average observed savings run just under 30 percent off the first quote. The levers that work are a multi-year term, a live competing evaluation, timing the close to quarter end, and pulling add-ons into the initial scope rather than buying them later at list.

Is there a Vanta promo code or discount code?

No. Vanta does not issue public promo codes, and the coupon sites listing them are publishing codes that do not work. Discounting on Vanta happens in the negotiation, not at a checkout field, and the numbers available there are far larger than any coupon would be.

How much does Vanta cost for SOC 2 specifically?

SOC 2 is the entry framework, so it maps to Essentials, which lists at $14,000 a year for companies with 1 to 20 employees. Adding a second framework such as ISO 27001 moves you up a package rather than adding a separate line.

Does Vanta get cheaper at renewal?

Usually the opposite. Renewals are where uplift appears, and the leverage you had as a new logo is gone. The time to fix a renewal price is 90 days out, with the same competing quote you should have had the first time.

Vanta or Drata, on price?

Close enough that price alone should not decide it. Both quote per deal and both discount in the same band under the same pressure. The honest tiebreaker is which one your auditor works with most often and which integrates with what you already run.

Is Vanta worth it?

It depends on what you are comparing it to. Against doing evidence collection by hand in spreadsheets, the platform pays for itself on a first SOC 2 and most teams say so. Against a cheaper competitor doing the same job, the honest answer is that the platforms have converged and the differences are integrations and auditor familiarity.

What it does not do is get you certified. The audit is a separate cost and a separate firm, and the gap remediation in between is work somebody has to do.

Does Vanta offer startup pricing?

There is no published startup price list, but discounts through accelerator and venture partner networks are real and worth asking about before you take a standard quote. If you are in a portfolio or a batch, ask your operations contact what is already negotiated rather than starting from scratch.

How much does Vanta cost for 100 employees?

Signed contracts in the 51 to 200 headcount band run roughly $25,000 to $55,000 a year. Where you land inside that is driven mostly by how many frameworks you are carrying and which add-ons are in scope, not by headcount alone.

What does Vanta cost to actually implement?

The platform tells you what is missing. Closing those gaps, writing the policies, running the evidence collection and getting through the audit is work somebody has to do. Teams either absorb it internally, which is usually underestimated by a factor of two, or bring in a partner who has done it before.

Selling compliance rather than buying it? The MSP program is built for firms who resell Vanta and Drata and need the demand side to work.

Send us the quote. We will tell you what it should be.

We see what these deals actually close at. Send what you have been quoted and we will tell you where it sits against comparable contracts, and what to ask for. If you also need someone to run the implementation, we will point you at people who do it properly.
