How Day.ai connects to your other tools

Getting information in is genuinely easy. Getting it back out takes more thought. That one fact decides how you should design everything else, and it is much cheaper to know it on day one than in week four. Here is the shape, in plain terms.

The one thing to know before you plan anything

Every connection question has two answers depending on which way the information is travelling. Work out which one you are doing first.

Ten minutes

Into Day.ai

Zapier handles it, and unusually you can throw messy text at it and let Day.ai sort out which field is which. No mapping to set up.

Some work

Out of Day.ai

Nothing gets sent out automatically when something changes, so another system has to come and ask on a timer. Doable, and somebody has to look after it.

Which points at a simple rule that makes life much easier: let Day.ai be where information arrives rather than where it starts. Let your sequencer own who gets emailed, your billing system own what was paid, and Day.ai own what was said. Designed that way it is very little work. Designed the other way round you own a moving part forever.

Three ways in, all easy. Coming back the other way, another system asks on a timer rather than being told. Design so information arrives here and you barely notice; design the other way round and you own a moving part.

Four things that are easier to know now

WhatWhy it matters on day one
You sign in, you do not paste a keyThere is no simple password to drop into a script, so each connection is set up by signing in and stays signed in. Fine once, a bit more work if you are doing it for several clients
Every person needs an email addressThat is how a person is identified, so a contact with no address cannot be created. Make sure whatever feeds it carries one
Every company needs a domainSame idea for organisations
Deals need the $60 planBelow that you can create people and companies but not opportunities, so a connection that opens deals needs that tier

What a developer gets

More than you would expect from a company this size, and it is properly built rather than an afterthought.

Around forty tools

Search records, create people and companies, open opportunities, read transcripts, draft email. More of them unlock as you move up the plans.

It plugs into Claude

Their setup guide walks you through connecting it, so an assistant can work against your CRM directly. That is a real capability and it is unusual.

A published kit

Typed code, four example apps, and the record structure written out. Enough to build something real against.

One practical note: their own page names one tool, while the full list of about forty lives in their code repository. If you are scoping a build, look there rather than at the marketing page.

Common questions

Can something happen automatically when a deal moves?

Not from Day.ai's side today. Nothing is sent out when a record changes, so the other system checks on a timer instead. If reacting instantly matters to you, price that in.

Is there a key I can put in a script?

Not a documented one. You connect by signing in and it stays connected after that. Straightforward for one workspace, a little more bookkeeping if you run several.

Is this changing?

Their page says there are no outbound triggers "at this time," which is not a roadmap statement in either direction. Worth asking before you build around it, because the answer changes the design.

Where we come in

We build the connections, and own them after

Everything on this page is buildable in an afternoon and stays working for years, which is the part people underestimate. We build it and we stay accountable for it rather than handing over a diagram.

  • Your other tools connected, tested against real records
  • The direction of every connection decided deliberately
  • The awkward cases handled before they are discovered
  • Someone to call when something changes at either end
